Superbreak, the Yorkshire based weekend break provider, has announced the launch of Grand Central Rail to its increasingly popular rail breaks programme. This new partnership aims to strengthen Superbreak's rail current coverage of the UK, providing customers in the North of England restriction free travel opportunities into London's Kings Cross. This will come as welcoming news to Superbreak's customers, who have been requesting the partnership for some time and adds to the tour operators' ever expanding portfolio of added value products, specifically London rail breaks.
Grand Central currently operates four return routes daily into London's Kings Cross and will offer Superbreak customers in the north more opportunities to enjoy a city breaks in the capital and visit London. Stations covered will include smaller cities and rural destinations, such as Hartlepool, Northallerton, Thirsk, Halifax, Bradford, Wakefield and Pontefract.
As with all Superbreak products, customers can choose from a range of 250+ central London hotels from 3* budget properties in the West End to 5* luxury accommodation along the Thames and add either standard or first class Grand Central rail tickets to create the perfect packaged break. What's more, with a range of sightseeing passes, tours, theatre tickets and events to choose from, the Grand Central-Superbreak partnership will only strengthen its value-added short breaks.
To date, the tour operator has reported a 68% growth on last year in the number of bookings where a rail journey has been added. These figures are very encouraging with its success largely attributed to the ability to create a tailor-made break for its customers. With petrol prices at a high, rail inclusive deals are proving popular for customers looking to get away on a budget. The introduction of Grand Central to the programme is sure to increase this area of the business even further.
Superbreak National Sales Manager, Graham Balmforth commented on the new partnership. "West Yorkshire, Teesside and the Durham Coast are a massive area for us, especially when selling into London. We listened to requests from our clients and we have been able to add Grand Central to our already comprehensive range of rail packages. This new partnership gives us additional localised options for our customers and provides a great way to increase booking values."
